It appears that European Sports Media (ESM) have accidently leaked the result of this year Ballon d'Or.

ESM are the media outlet behind the Golden Shoe award and ESM European Team of the year that occur on annual basis.
According to them, Lionel Messi will take home his fifth Ballon d'Or award while Celia Sasic will hold the title of Women's Best Player of the Year award , both extremely likely results.

The news originated from a tweet from Dutch journalist Michael Abbink, who appeared to have discovered a press release indicating Messi and Celia Sasic of the Men's and Women's Best Player of the year award respectively.

But later ESM removed the image from their website, and issued a statement explaining "Due to a technical problem at transmission, Lionel Messi and Celia Sasic were listed as FIFA Ballon d'Or 2015 winners. They further said, "Actually, they won the awards UEFA Best Player in Europe 2015 resp. UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe 2015. We apologize for the mistake."

The official Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place at January 11,2016 but it looks like that somebody in ESM already knows the result.
