Gareth Bale showing How to kick a Knuckleball

Today we are going to breakdown the secrets of taking a knuckle ball free-kick and Gareth Bale will tell you how it is done. Knuckle Ball is one of the types of free-kick in which the ball gets top spin and dips quickly over the wall or when close to keeper.

For many of you there, this move is natural talent and only world greatest football players can do this but you are Absolutely Wrong! With these simple steps put forward by Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, you can hit a knuckle ball free-kick too!

Tip#1: Master the Run Up! This is the first thing you are going to do for you free-kick (apart from looking at the target!), so repeat the same run up every time you practice the knuckle ball. This move has really simple formula, 4 steps back and 1 step on the side exactly like Bale!
Tip#2: Opposite arm to the foot you are kicking with goes up horizontally, this gives you the balance needed to strike the ball

Tip#3: As Bale says, "Use the thickest part of your foot to make contact". You don't want to think about using pure power, getting the right technique and repeating it in your practice will surely improve your knuckle ball free-kick.

Tip#4: As Bale shows you in the video. You want to stop your follow through! "PUNCH" the ball with a bigger back swing and short follow through.

Tip#5: Again the master shows you in the video how its done! Both of your hips should end up facing the goal, and your kicking foots wrap over your standing foot.

The art of striking a knuckle ball free-kick is mastered by very few footballers but once it is mastered..... deadly! Therefore to show you the right method of taking a knuckle ball free-kick is cleanly showed by crisp Gareth Bale. The SMART BALL shows the secrets behind the Gareth Bale
knuckle ball!
